William Albrecht Obituary

William (Bill) Dillon Albrecht, 80, of Ellicott City, died peacefully with family by his side on December 28, 2022 after an extended decline following a stroke.

Bill was born on April 25, 1942 in Baltimore, MD. After he graduated from Howard County High School in 1960, he went on to study at University of Maryland.

After graduating, he joined the Air Force where he proudly served. Following his honorable service, he returned to Maryland and began his decades-long career in manufacturing management. He was proud of and enjoyed his career in Sweetheart Cup in Owings Mills and cherished the relationships he made while there. While in manufacturing, he followed his passions and gained his real estate license. Upon his retirement from Sweetheart Cup, he turned to real estate full time, where he thrived on meeting new people and being involved in the local Howard County community.

Among his many life achievements, include a long career as a Boy Scout culminating in being a decorated Eagle Scout. He was an expert high powered rifle and pistol marksmen, competing in many tournaments; a lifelong waterfowl hunter; avid skier; and loved being on the beaches, especially in his beloved Ocean City and prided himself on being the oldest boogie boarder in the water.

His most proud achievement, however, was as a devoted father to Ryan and grandfather to Koa, Atticus and Ace. A true family man, Bill took immense joy in being around his family and bragged extensively about them to all he met.

He will be dearly missed by those he is survived by; son, Ryan, and daughter-in-law, Lisa; his adoring grandchildren, Koa, Atticus and Ace; his sister's Diane and Debbie; and his niece, Tara.

Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ellicott City on January 7, 2023 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ducks Unlimited or a Howard County charity of their choice. www.HarryWitzkeFuneralHome.com

In memory of Bill Albrecht, our real estate agent who not only helped us sell out house, but provided us with support, stability, sanity and humor during a very difficult market and through a very difficult time in our lives. Thanks so much, Bill, we couldn't have done it without you. Rest in peace and in love.

Billy, a lifelong and loyal friend, you will be missed from our once weekly round of discussion and coffee at Einstein's. Perhaps they'll need an experienced lifeguard manager at the truly Olympic swim pool in the sky. Thankfully you've still got your whistle and Instructor's Certification badge from the early Turf Valley days. Hopefully they've got a John Deere tractor you can use and a quiet and accurate shooting range. Travel well Buddy. Jimbo

Sad to hear that my good friend will no longer share good times at the YMCA and UMBC Basketball games. My life is better because of Bill. I will never forget him.
