Marci,
I just heard today about Dave. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't know Dave well, but I did know the two of you had been soul mates since your freshman year in high school -- a very long time. I know you must miss him terribly. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. God Bless.

Dear Smith Family,
We couldn't help but think of you today on Father's Day. We only knew Dave through Harper Creek Sports, but he was so obviously a shining example of the kind of man you would want your kids to emulate. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to you and hope that next year at this time your hearts are a little less heavy.

David's Extended Family,
As a fellow colleague for some years, I felt Harper Creek so fortunate to have Dave with us. His professionalism and human spirit was certainly there all the time. May you be proud of him and remember him as we do. So sadly we must accept his loss to you and the community. May he not have died in vain, but as a shining example as a father, son, husband, educator/psychologist and friend.

Marci, Nate, Ben, & Jake,
It is amazing to me that I've known Dave since he was about 12 years old. He truly was like a brother to me and it bothered me that we didn't see each other later in our lives. But this is something I believe in, and that is this, The spirit is a LIVING entity and to me for sure your husband/father still is alive.
We do the best we can while we live
here on Earth, and Dave was exceptional. Trust me when I tell you you will truly see him again.
I've missed seeing your family. The boys have grown into men.

The very best to you.
Randy & Maggie

Marci, Nate, Ben and Jake...
I was traveling on business and just became aware of your loss Thursday night. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Dave played an incredible role in the development of my sons Evan and Adam, in particular Adam when he coined a special nickname for him during 6th grade football...a memory I will never forget.
The passion Dave displayed for his family and community were truely an inspiration to all he was associated with.

Marci, Nate, Ben and Jake -- words can never express how sorry we are for your loss. "Coach Smith" touched so many lives, more than he even knew. He has been such a great leader, mentor, coach and role model to Kyle over the last couple of years and for that we are so thankful. We're right down the street -- call on us anytime.

Marci and boys,
Although I didn't know Dave as a personal friend, I feel we all had a connection as Harper Creek families. Almost every sporting or school event attended, we saw you all there. Cassie and Ben started kindergarten together, and I have watched the boys grow into fine young men. What a legacy Dave has left behind! My heart goes out to all of you, and please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi
Everytime I seen Dave he always looked relaxed,(except when he was coaching basketball against Cody's team at Lakeview). He always had me laughing after he spoke abut two words. I am very thankful that he was able to coach Tyler in baseball and basketball when Tyler was younger, because it proved that all coaches did not have to beat you down to get results. Like I said before Dave always made you feel good everytime everytime you talked to him. He was one of a kind and will be missed.

I remember when my dad passed away; Dave came and asked me about him in my office at HCJH. He extended his sympathies to myself and my family and I know he really cared about how I felt. That, in itself, made me feel better. Just to know someone cared enough to take time and talk with me. Even though I don't know, you, his family, please know that I am praying for each and every one of you. That God will keep you in his care and surround you with HIS loving arms at this time. So very sorry.
