Robert A. Smith, 72, of Henry, passed away Saturday February 22, 2025, at OSF ST. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 11:00am at the Henry United Methodist Church. Rev. Will Meachum will officiate. Instead of black, please wear bright colors. Inurnment will be at Henry Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Choose Joy, checks written to Rykers Rally or Venmo: Choose Joy @rykersrally. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born September 26, 1952, in Spring Valley, IL to Arthur Ellsworth and Marie (McCauley) Smith. He married Rita M. Olson on June 17, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2017.
Surviving are his children, Erin (Mike) Smith-Wood, of Huntley, Brad (Sibyl) Schrock, of Henry, Eric (Mlinda) Smith, of Ottawa, Brian Schrock, of Henry, his fiancé, Mariola Lapa, of Henry, her children, Brandon (Madison) Kereta, Bryan Kereta, Amanda (Colton) Washkowiak, and Amber Kereta, his grandchildren, Bailey (Ben) Aranda, Hunter (Vrock) Hartwig, Braden Schrock, Caden Smith, Cade Trammel, Connor Andrees, Alexis Trammel, Addyson Wood, Harper Schrock, Gavin Wood, Brian Schrock, Kahlen Smith and six great grandchildren. Along with his siblings, Stephen (Kristi) Smith, Kevin (Cheri) Smith and Tim (Angie) Smith, all of Henry.
Bob attended the Methodist church.
He was a self-employed contractor, operating Bob Smith Building Contractor. He will be remembered for his love of cars, especially his Corvette's, playing golf, boating, Florida vacations, eating out at Mona's and attending the river "Union Meetings."
