Melba Wood Obituary

Melba Wood
Melba Lucile Wood, nee Smith, 84, of Troy, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 28, 1919, in Huey, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Wood was retired from Martha Manning Dress Factory after many years of service. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Collinsville, Ill.
She was preceded n death by her first husband, Clyde Coleman Sr.; her second husband, Edgar Wood, who was a past Collinsville Fire Department chief; and her parents, Charles and Martha, nee Pelke, Smith.
Surviving are two sons, Clyde (Debbie) Coleman of Troy, Ill., and Donald Coleman of Collinsville, Ill.; a niece, Janet Jensen of Columbia, Ill.; a dear friend, Sandra Coleman of Collinsville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Family Hospice of the Belleville Area or to Alzheimer's Research.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
