Jeanne Taggart
November 5, 2008
I'm writing for my mother, Jeanne Taggart, who was apprehensive and alone when she moved from Chester IL to St. Francis. Meeting Nora changed everything. Mom was welcomed, found a fellow walker and nature lover and rediscovered her Polish heritage, although she knows not a word of Polish and is not Catholic. Nora helped her remember and renew her love for her father and her Polish family (her mother was a German-American Lutheran) and made her feel that Belleville and the Shrine are really home. Nora's spunk and humor were just the best! Mom asked me to find out what to do, because she is so grateful for having had Nora in her life, so I'm trying my best. Thanks for providing this opportunity.

So sorry for your loss, Nora (Challie)as our family called her many years ago. Nora was a wonderful woman, always had a smile on her face and was so thoughtful. She would always stop in to check on my Mom "Nellie Kasson". My Sympathy to you and your family.

"HoHo" and my Mom ("Skeets") went to Nursing School together at St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis and remained wonderful friends throughout their lives. I was blessed to have her as my godmother just as many others were blessed with her love and affection. Even when things became a bit cloudy for her, glimmers of her feisty personality came through. She always had a smile and a warm welcome and she made you feel that she was genuinely happy to see you. She will surely be missed. My condolences to all of her family and many friends.

Our hearts go out to my dear sister-in-law and my brother right now. As if there wasn't enough to deal with. My heart breaks - and if I could get on an airplane right now I would. My love goes to all of you -

To the Children and Grandchildren of Nora,
May you find comfort in God as you embark on this Journey of grief and sorrow. You will always remember the smile on your mother face, the smell of her hair will follow you everywhere.Tuck all those precious memories that you had spent with her in your pocket save them for a rainy day because they will bring you sunshine into your life. Your mother is home now, resting peacefully in the arms of God. He greeted her with a smile and took her by the hand to meet all her have been waiting for her. May she rest in peace with all who have been waiting for her to come home.

Hi grandma...just wanted to say that I miss you a lot and that I am so glad that you are not suffering anymore and that you are with the God that you have worked so hard and waited so long to see. Save a cheeseburger and fry for me in heaven. All the love and "dwa buziak" (two kisses) from your grandson.
