Roy Kollmeyer Obituary

Roy Kollmeyer
Roy A.S. Kollmeyer, 83, of Collinsville, Ill., born April 6, 1921, in Mehlville, Mo., died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Maryville Manor, Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Kollmeyer was a retired clerk with Pennsylvania and Conrail Railroads with more than 45 years of service. He was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Belleville, Ill., and was very active with Edgemont Bible Church for many years. Mr. Kollmeyer was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retiring as a captain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Rebecca, nee Meierding, Kollmeyer; three brothers, Wilbur, Orville and Emory Kollmeyer; and a sister, Dorothy Kollmeyer.
Surviving are his wife, Wilhelmina "Minnie," nee Lammers, Kollmeyer; two daughters, Elaine Klaus of Edwardsville, Ill., and Kathleen (Jim) VanVleet of Gainesville, Texas; a son, David Kollmeyer of Houston, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Kollmeyer of Belleville, Ill.; three sisters, Pearl Maiden of Affton, Mo., Opal (Larry) Kneezel of Downs, Ill., and Ruby Kollmeyer of Millstadt, Ill.; four grandchildren, Nathan and Jeffrey Klaus and Nicholas and Kristina VanVleet; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Collinsville Animal Network or to Heartland Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with the Rev. Robert Widbin officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
