Ruth Jung Obituary
Ruth M. Jung, 80, of Shiloh, Ill., born July 1, 1926 in Okawville, Ill., died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, suddenly at her home in Shiloh, Ill.
Mrs. Jung retired after 25 years as an elementary school teacher, including 20 years at Shiloh Elementary School.
She was a member of O'Fallon United Church of Christ and the Shiloh Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth, nee Lehde, Hassebrock; and husband John O. Jung, whom she married January 25, 1947, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville.
Ruth is survived by three sons, Randy (Lenora) Jung of Shiloh, Ill., Kevin Jung of O'Fallon, Ill., and Darrell (Amy) Jung of Hermann, Mo.; two sisters, Lauryne Hangsleben and Lucille Schneider, both of Shiloh, Ill.; sister-in-law, Virginia (Edward) Morris of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren; David, Michael, Jeffrey, Adam, Lauren and Noah Jung, seven nephews, Lonnie (Carol) Karius, William (Kathy) Karius, Sylvester (Joyce) Jung, Gregory Jung, George (Beth) Jung, Edward (Peggy) Morris, Craig (Julie) Hangsleben; two nieces, Sheila (Gerald) Mueller and Marlene (Frank) Little; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Avenue, O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the funeral home with Rev. Walter Gerth officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.

I certainly enjoyed talking with Ruth when I was in O'Fallon visiting my aunt, Emma Lee Pigg. She was a lovely person and I send my condolences to the family.

I'll always remember Mrs. Jung's treasure box in 2nd grade. I was in her class 32 years ago! She was a great teacher and a wonderful person.
