Dale Miller Obituary

Dale E. Miller
March 13, 1938 - April 18, 2022
Tulsa, Oklahoma - Dale E. Miller, age 84, longtime resident of Bellingham, currently residing in Independence, Kansas, passed away on April 18, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a short illness. Dale was born at home on March 13, 1938 near Pettisville, Ohio. He attended Pettisville public schools and earned a BS from Goshen College (IN). At Goshen, he met Wilma Kauffman and they were married in Colorado in 1962. They were married for 40 years, until Wilma passed away in 2003. In 1963, Dale and Wilma moved to Alaska for a "one year adventure" as school teachers; that adventure lasted 22 years. In 1988, they moved to Bellingham, where Dale began using his master carpentry skills to repair boats and old houses. While here, he was actively involved in First Presbyterian Church. Dale is survived by his two daughters and their families, Natalie and Todd Burkham of Camano Island, and JoElla and Jeff Eriksen of Independence, Kansas. He delighted in his grandchildren, Matthew and Karina Burkham, Hans, Charlotte, Louisa and Thomas Eriksen. All are invited to join the family at a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church in Bellingham at 7 pm on May 7.
