Gordon Scott Obituary

Gordon W. Scott (age 80) entered into rest on July 5, 2009 in Bellingham, WA. Gordon was born on September 26, 1928 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Warren B. and Emma (Thompson) Scott. He graduated high school in Colville, WA and attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho on a music scholarship. Gordon entered the Army on October 4, 1946 and was discharged in February 16, 1948 with the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Occupation Medal for Japan. He enlisted once again for the Korean Conflict on November 14, 1956 and was discharged as a Sgt Tech. E5. Gordon was interested in a variety of activities; he was an avid flyer and flight instructor, self taught organ, guitar, and harmonica player. He also enjoyed singing and had a beautiful tenor voice. Gordon was an accomplished pinochle and bridge player and a Director of the Bellingham Duplicate Bridge Club for many years. He was also a semi-pro bowler while in his 20s. He was a spiritual man, baptized in the Presbyterian Church and loved Jesus. Overall, Gordon will be remembered most for his great story telling, sense of humor, generosity, compassion, charming and charismatic personality and musical abilities. He is survived by his son, Brian W. Scott; daughters, Lori Jo (Steve) Allison, Leni Jo (Kurt) Blondheim all of Bellingham, WA; brothers, Warren Scott of Bonners Ferry, ID, Harvey Scott, Duane Scott both of Colville, WA; sisters, Lois Hoskins of San Francisco, CA, Lucille Robey of Arizona; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa, Derek and Ashley Allison, Tyler Jessica Fenton, Jake and Samuel Blondheim; great grandchildren, Colton and Avery Allison. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents in 1959; son, Gordon Guy Scott in 1953; brother, Ray Scott in 1987 and sister Marie Macomber in 2009.
