Mark C. Whitbeck

Mark Christopher Whitbeck, age 62, passed away in Ferndale on August 16, 2016. Mark was born on September 25, 1953 in Hamburg, NY to Francis & Daisy Whitbeck. He was one of four children. When Mark was four years old the family headed west to California. Mark moved to Ferndale in January 1994. On September 10, 1998, he married Judi Pearson Whitbeck. Together they enjoyed almost 18 years of marriage. Mark lived life on his terms - on the edge. Despite acting like the tough guy, he was incredibly likable and had a good heart. Mark took every chance he could to show his appreciation for the work and efforts of friends and family, lending a hand when he was able. He loved his motorcycles. And, when he wasn't riding he was playing classic rock on his guitars. Mark had recently learned to play the drums too. He also enjoyed remote control cars and helicopters. Friday nights would often find he and Judi out dancing. In between it all, Mark worked as a flooring installer. Mark is preceded in death by his parents, younger son Christopher Whitbeck and brother Martin Arthur Whitbeck. He is survived by wife Judi Whitbeck, daughter Diana Hunter, son Brandon Whitbeck and daughter Rachel Whitbeck, sisters Carol Whitbeck and Vickie Shubert, eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
