I loved thad. he was my mba thesis advisor at the UW in probably 1974. and since he lived up in north seattle, i would see him now and then when he shopped at Arts grocery store. only once did i come up to him and introduce myself - maybe 40 years after the UW. he was as kind and gentle as he was
40 years earlier. i think about him often because, if either of us had known about what i was writing as a thesis and what it would eventually turn out to be,
we would have been the richest people in the world.
but that's a story for another time. a truly great
guy. i sequéd his dashikis into colorful hawaiian
shirts - a white guy dashiki. !

My condolences to the Spratlen. Both Thad and his beloved wife, Lois, were valued friends and esteemed colleagues in the larger community. Thad promised me a copy of his memoir. We will miss him.
