1976 - 2014 POWNAL Bridgett K. Mitchell, 38, of Lakeview Drive, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Glen Cove, N.Y. on Jan. 30, 1976. She was the daughter of John and Maureen Ewing Mitchell. Bridgett received her education in Bennington and was a 1997 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. Bridgett had a knack for the arts and music. She was an avid potter and bowler. In her free time, Bridgett could be found being pampered with luxurious spa treatments, soaking up the sun on Lake George, or on the beach in St. Augustine. She had an honorary PhD in life skills, and in teaching others about patience and unconditional love. Bridgett was a communicant of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine, Florida. Bridgett knew how to light up a room and was loved by all who knew her. She was truly an angel of light and love, and will be greatly missed by all her friends and family. Survivors include her parents; John Mitchell of Pownal, and Maureen Mitchell of St. Augustine, Fla.; three sisters, Rebecca Loabe of Glens Falls, N.Y., Kristen Mitchell and husband, Scott Loughmiller, of San Francisco, Calif., and Ann Mitchell and wife, Mairead Finn, of San Francisco, Calif.; two nephews, and a niece, Gavin and Riley Loabe and Max Loughmiller; her maternal grandmother, Mary-Ann Ewing of Florida; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Beatrice Mitchell of Virginia, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. The burial will take place at the convenience of the family in St. Augustine, Florida.
