David McKeon Obituary
1942-2015 David Paul McKeon Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 in New Bern, N.C., as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born in North Adams on September 9, 1942 son of the late Thomas F. and Beatrice LePage McKeon, was educated in North Adams schools, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Viet Nam war. He moved to New Bern where he was employed at the Cherry Point Marine Corps base as a civilian. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, David Paul McKeon Jr. and Jimmy Williams, both of New Bern; daughter, Sandy Hoogendorm of Swansboro, N.C., four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, William and Timothy (Julia) McKeon, both of New Bern, and Dana Davis of Holyoke; two sisters, Mary Ann O'Neill of Northampton and Carol Couture of Adams; several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas McKeon Jr. and Benjamin Davis and sister, Jean LaFreniere. Memorial services were held January 7 in New Bern.
