Linda Henry Obituary

Linda Ann (Windover) Henry, 83, passed away on May 29, 2023 at Milford Regional Hospital in Milford, Massachusetts.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sherman M. Henry to whom she was married on September 2, 1961 at First Baptist Church in Pittsfield, MA, until his passing on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.

Linda was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Struzik) Windover. She was born on June 17, 1939 at the House of Mercy Hospital in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated with honors from Pittsfield High School in 1957.

Linda and Sherman built their home in Wolcott, CT in 1964, where they raised their children. In retirement, they moved to South Yarmouth, MA in 2000.

Linda is survived by her daughter Hally Ann Whalen and her husband Steve, of Mansfield, MA, and her son Tod Windover Henry and his partner Amanda Costello of South Yarmouth, MA. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Bethany Whalen, Laura Whalen and Brendan Whalen.

Linda dedicated herself to the Girl Scouts of America organization. She was a troop leader and service unit chairman in Wolcott and was employed for many years by the Connecticut Trails Council of Girl Scouts as a membership and marketing manager. She was awarded the Thanks Badge by the CT Council in 2002, the highest award given to adults, and in 2005 was voted into the Girl Scouts of America Hall of Fame.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of Connecticut, 340 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
