Maureen L. Doolan

PITTSFIELD -- Maureen L. Doolan, 60, of 4 Sampson Parkway, died yesterday at Providence Health Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided since December 2006.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 2, 1946, daughter of the late Michael C. and Elthea L. Cummings Doolan, she attended local schools and was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She received her associate's degree in business administration from Bay State School of Business in Boston in 1966.

Ms. Doolan worked as an administrative assistant for Berkshire Qualified Plans Inc. on North Street for the last 14 years. Prior to that she worked for the state employment office and for the former Shaeffer Eaton Paper Co.

She was a voracious reader and was one of the Berkshire Athenaeum's annual top users. She loved to travel on Dufour Tours and visit family in New Hampshire.

She was a member of the Berkshire County Association of Retarded Citizens and the Autism Society of America.

She leaves a son, Pierre Theriault Jr. of Pittsfield; and two brothers, Kevin M. Doolan, with whom she made her home in Pittsfield, and Michael J. Doolan of Nashua, N.H.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Maureen L. Doolan, 60, died in Lenox on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007. She was a devoted and loving mom. She also leaves her dear sister-in-law, Marcia Doolan; her beloved niece, Kelly Downing, and her beloved nephew, Michael W. Doolan, all of Nashua, N.H. She also leaves her niece Megan Melick of Clark, N.J. In addition, she leaves her grandniece Kaylie Doolan and her two grandnephews, Tyler and Ryan Downing, all of Nashua, N.H. Finally, she leaves all her coworkers at Berkshire Qualified Plans who were like family to her. There are no calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to BCARC or the Autism Society of America in care of Dwyer Funeral Home.
