Robert Spofford Obituary
1953 - 2015 ADAMS Mr. Robert A. Spofford, 62, of 88 Orchard St. died Tuesday afternoon, December 1, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, with his wife and mother at his side. He was born in Adams on January 1, 1953, a son of Doris (McKay) Spofford and the late Ray Spofford. He attended Clarksburg schools, and graduated from C.H. McCann Technical High School with the Class of 1972. Bob was currently employed in the Facilities department at Williams College for the past 33 years. He had also been a co-owner of the former G & S Sporting Goods store in Clarksburg. He was a member of the Stamford Sportsman Club and the Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club. Bob was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and loved cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing good times, good food and fine wine. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Carol A. Skowronski, whom he married on August 10, 1990; his mother, Doris (McKay) Spofford of Clarksburg; two brothers, James Spofford and his companion, Janet Zappula, of Clarksburg; and Daniel Spofford and his wife, Lisa, of Jensen Beach, FL; two sisters, Tricia Beach and her husband, Larry, of Clarksburg; and Susan Spofford of Port St. Lucie, FL; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Burke and her husband, Michael, of Loudonville, NY. Bob shared a special relationship with his nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grand-nieces. He also leaves several cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Monday, December 7th, at 11a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 until 5p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Pop Cares, PO Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267, or to the Stamford Sportsman Club, in care of David Fierro, 5131 Main Rd. Stamford, VT 05352. They owned the G&S Gun shop many years ago, Bob was a great guy and we all had very much fun with him. There are many memories! So many great memories growing up with Bobby. Skating at the state park, riding bikes around town, lots of baseball at Briggsville school and just being my friend. They don't come much better than Bobby. My sympathies to his family. We'll all miss him.

To Bob's family,
Although I have been away from Williams for several years I have fond memories of Bob whenever I met him on campus or he was working at the President's House. He was always fun to talk to and he often told me about a new wine. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Also sorry I cannot be with you on Monday.
