L.D. Cunningham Obituary

LD. Cunningham, 98, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Myers & Smith Chapel with Greg Surles, Minister of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
L.D. was born January 25, 1917 in Bug Tussle, Texas to Tabitha and William Cunningham. He came from East Texas to Howard County in a covered wagon in 1926. He married Mary Boy on Dec. 9, 1966 in Abilene. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 2010. He owned D&W Pump Supply for 55 years and retired in 1998. He was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Sue Jackson and husband, Rick, of Big Spring and Brenda Washburn and husband, Rick, also of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Kathy Jones of Temple, Cheryl Gay of Cleburne, Linda Harry of Thackerville, Okla., Karen Terrio of Cleburne, Texas, and Beverly Knott of Big Spring; 18 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Boy and Billy T. Boy and sixteen brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jim Johnson, Gaylon Knowlton, Michael Yarbrough, James Larry Redmon, Ronnie Cunningham and Sherman Mosely.
