Randal "Randy" Overton

1959 - 2016

Randal "Randy" Overton, 56, of Coahoma, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Coahoma Church of Christ with Eddy Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
Randal was born on May 7, 1959, in Big Spring, Texas, to Fannie Lee Riffe Overton and Raymond Lee Overton. He has been a lifetime resident of Howard County. Randal married Kelly Luttrell on May 20, 1977, in Big Spring. He had worked most of his life in the oil fields as a pumper and transport driver. He served 25 years for the Coahoma Fire Department and had also served as fire chief. He loved fixing lawnmowers. He was known as a jokester and will be missed at the Dairy Queen in Coahoma. He was a member of Coahoma Church of Christ.
Randal is survived by his wife Kelly Overton of Coahoma; one son, Randy Overton Jr. and wife Autumn of San Antonio; one daughter, Sarah Halaney and husband David of Corona, Calif.; three grandchildren, Alivia Overton of San Antonio, Spencer Thompson and Sterling Thompson both of Corona, Calif.; his mother Fannie Overton of Big Spring; three brothers, Ricky Overton and wife Cindy of Coahoma, Royce Overton of Shepherd and his twin Raymond Overton of Big Spring; and several nieces and nephews.
Randal was preceded in death by his father Raymond Lee Overton.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Grant, Richard Overton, Cody Ditto, Michael McCarver, Marc Ditto, River McAnally, Justin Ditto and Raymond Overton.
