Alice Gene Tower
Alice Gene Tower passed away peacefully on the evening of Nov. 28, 2022. She was surrounded by family members, friends and love. Alice was born on a kitchen table in Yale, Oklahoma, on Oct. 17, 1925, to Archer Dick Elliott and Della Frances Elliott. She married Emery Tower on Aug. 24, 1946. Alice graduated from Oklahoma A & M, now Oklahoma State University in 1943 and was a diehard OSU sports fan all her life.

She taught Head Start in Billings then taught 3-4 year-olds at the Community day care center at the First Congregational Church for 19 years. After Emery passed away in 1978, her life was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She lived 62 years in their home on Rancho Road before moving to West Park Village so she could receive more help.

Lee Tower (Cheryl), Jill Tower and Keith Tower (Jody); grandchildren Emery Tower (Chelsey), Samantha Tower, Michelle Loftus (Patrick) and Heather Loftus, Max Jahn, Tyler Jahn, and Zach Tower; and her great-grandchildren Reise Berndt, Cadence O'Brien Tower and Mackenzie Tower. She is preceded in death by her husband Emery M. Tower, Jr.; grandson Nic Tower; brother Dale Elliott; brother Bill Elliott and sister Lois Chapman.

I just came across Alice's obituary...so very late. It's been years since I've seen Alice or the family, but I have many fond memories of her. I was pregnant with my daughter, Lieveka, when Emery passed away and I recall being at the house on Downer for a get together. I remember her spoon collection and telling me how she would always vacuum under Jill's crib when she was a baby to get her used to loud noises! I was always welcome at her home and at their cabin in Red Lodge. She and I used to work the Billings Word Jumble together. I remember one day I absolutely could not decipher a word so I called Alice. It was "guitar". I have tons of other stories and memories of a truly wonderful woman who always made me feel like family. Oh my, the things we remember. My deepest condolences to Lee, Jill, Keith and the rest of the family! Becky K. (Braswell) White, Billings MT

So sorry for your loss. As you know, we shared a lot of time with Alice for a number of years, especially when living across the street from her. Many New Year's Day celebrations at her home enjoying her delicious Black-eyed pea soup.
Our prayers are with all of you. Bob & Jan
