Barbara Thomas-Stewart Obituary

TUCSON, Ariz. - Barbara June Thomas-Stewart was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Lovell, Wyo., to Robert George and June Cribbs Thomas. The family moved to Billings in 1955, where Barbara graduated from Billings West High in 1973.

She started working for the IRS in Billings and transferred to Helena, Mont., where she met and married Duncan Stewart on Sept. 4, 1981. They both worked in Las Vegas; Boise, Idaho; St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and Wimberley, Texas, before her transfer to Tucson.

Barbara June passed away June 10, 2008, 10:30 a.m., her loving and best friend Duncan at her side. Her sister Ida was also there.

She is survived by her husband, Duncan; mother June T. Wittman and stepfather William Wittman of Apache Junction, Ariz.; her sisters, Ida Thomas of Seattle and Ann (John) Peycke and brother Robert G. (Bev) Thomas Jr. of Billings; stepsisters Jane and Debra Smart of Billings and Sandee Comstock of Melbourne, Fla.; her stepdaughters, Pam (Mike) Christianson and Kathy (Ted) Townsend of Las Vegas; and stepson Bob Stewart of Helena, Mont.; and step-grandsons Brian Townsend and Ryan Stewart; nieces and nephews, Chad and Jeremy Lind, Jennifer, Jessica and Robert Thomas III; great-nieces Sarah Lind of Billings, Jannel and Jacqui Ocozco; nephews Julio and Joseph Ocozco of Yuma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Thomas Sr.; her grandparents, Lon and Ida Cribbs, George and Mary Thomas; and her step-grandmother, Peg Cribbs.

We will miss her so very much! She's with her Daddy now and in God's hands.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, in the Hamilton, Mont., cemetery.
