Rose Meier Obituary

HURDSFIELD -- Rose Meier, 70, Hurdsfield, died April 13, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hurdsfield Community Center, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hurdsfield.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Rose was born June 10, 1930, in Hurdsfield, the daughter of Alfred J. and Marie (Miller) Peak. She grew up and attended school in Hurdsfield. She married Jake Meier on Oct. 14, 1946, in Fessenden. They farmed near Goodrich. In 1951 they moved to Hurdsfield, and in 1970, they moved to a farm southwest of Hurdsfield. Jake died on Nov. 21, 1987. Rose continued to live on the farm where she took an active part in the daily farming and ranching operations.

Rose was currently serving as the North West Township clerk in Kidder County. She was a member of American Legion in Hurdsfield. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by one son, Victor; one daughter, Evelyn Meier; one grandson, Travis Meier, all of Hurdsfield; and five brothers, Gerald, Richard and Gayle, all of Bismarck, Verle, Harvey, and Kenneth, Posen, Ill.
