John Robert Fite

John Robert Fite, 69, of Granite Falls, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on August 2, 2023. John was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 25, 1953 to Horace Edward Fite and Eula Mae Wingo Fite.
John worked in the Texas oil fields and after 30 years, retired as a drilling superintendent. John was a very quick witted and brilliant man. He loved everything about the outdoors including riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, boating, fishing, hunting and hanging out with his buddies. He was an old movie buff and enjoyed classic country music.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Faye Wilson.
John is survived by his significant other, best friend and riding buddy, Patsy Malone Manasco of Granite Falls, North Carolina; sons Wesley Cole Fite and daughter in law, Christina of Amarillo, Texas, Robert Fite Carswell of Hickory, North Carolina; daughter, Donna Lea Fite of College Station, Texas; brothers, Lonnie Fite and sister in law, Ruby, of Granite Falls, North Carolina and Howard Fite of Heavener, Oklahoma,; sisters Brenda Cox of Talihina, Oklahoma and LeaAnn Benefield and brother in law, Russell of Heavener, Oklahoma; three grandchildren with another one the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on his 70th birthday, September 25, 2023.
