I was a post-doc working with Prof. Davison at M.I.T. in 1966-67. He was a warm, thoughtful man with a hearty laugh and understated British sense of humor. He helped me ramp-start my career in Chemistry via a faculty position at Boston College.

Alan will be remembered fondly by so many, a truly amazing man in so many ways. May he rest in peace and enjoy endless rugby matches till we meet again and share a proper pint.
