Barbara Starr Obituary

Wife of Edward H. Starr, died Monday, October 9, 2006 at Starr Farm Nursing Center following a long and difficult battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born August 21, 1922, in Greenwich, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Theodore and Janet (Warford) Walworth. She was educated in Greenwich and graduated from Lasell College. Barbara married Edward H. Starr on June 6, 1949 in Greenwich, CT. The couple moved to Vermont in November of 1954. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Burlington, Klifa Club and D.A.R. She was a faithful volunteer for many organizations in the area. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Edward H. Starr, and their three children Mrs. William (Suzanne) Curran of Millis, MA, Edward H. Starr, Jr. of Richmond, VA and David W. Starr of Weybridge, VT, her six grandchildren David S. Curran and Carolyn A. Curran, David W. Starr, Jr., Tricia H. Starr, Elizabeth H. Starr and Tyler G. Starr. She was also survived by her brother, Theodore H. Walworth, Jr. of Greenwich, CT. A memorial service in celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2006 in the First Congregational Church, S. Winooski Avenue, Burlington. Interment will be private in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc. 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road Miami, FL. 33136-1494. Arrangements are in the care of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 71 So. Union Street Burlington, VT. 05401.
