God Bless, R.I.P., and our sincerest condolences. My father worked with Jimmy in the late 1970s at Ten Post Office Square. They shared a love of Brookline, the law, and politics. Jimmy was a great lawyer, friend, and human being. His great sense of humor, ready smile, and calm perspective on life were greatly appreciated. So sorry for your loss. He will be missed. I met Jim Duggan in September 1971 when we were both sophomores at BC. I signed up for a seminar course about the Federalist Papers because I didn't know that seminar courses were small classes and everybody had to have opinions.
I was convinced that I was the dumbest person in the room and had no opinions. I was, however, smart enough to realize that this Duggan kid had lots of opinions and if I sat next to him, I would have some cover.
I later learned that Jimmy always had opinions.

Claire, We loved how much Jimmy loved you and how proud he was of Ben and Maeve.
Yossie loved his knowledge of the world, its history and its politics. Our friendship of more than 50 years was made richer when you chose each other. We hope you will know no more sorrow.

I cant even begin to tell you what a great person James Duggan was. A great Father, Brother, Uncle and great friend. Jim would help anyone he could in time of need ( and we all know who we are)without question! I am saddened and in shock to here of his sudden passing.
My condolences to The Duggan in this very trying time...The Swans.

A truly remarkable person, I have long drawn inspiration from Jim's insatiable zest for life, the gusto with which he lived his, Jim's pragmatic optimism, and, of course, his easy but soaring laugh.
Gregarious, generous, out-going, wise, charismatic, curious, self-made, larger-than-life, brilliant, articulate, and definitely delightfully one-of-a-kind.
Thank you Jimmy for being a pillar of my youth, and dearest family friend for over 40 years.

I worked for Town of Brookline, that is how I met Jim,, he was a wonderful man, always had a smile on his
