JOANN BABCOCK Obituary

BABCOCK, JoAnn M. (MacDougall) Devoted to her family JoAnn (MacDougall) Babcock, of Woburn, formerly of Lexington MA, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, surrounded by her family. JoAnn is survived by her loving husband, William (Bill) Babcock. JoAnn was incredibly funny and always knew how to bring a giggle into the conversation with a silly dance or song. She took great comfort and joy in the company of her many friends, including her regular book group that she was involved with for over 20 years, her Friday night dinners with former co-workers and reconnecting with old friends. She enjoyed puzzles, playing brain games, helping Bill with the daily crossword and snuggling with her dog, Roxy. Her favorite place to spend time with family and friends was her family's lake house on Pemaquid Pond in Nobleboro, ME. JoAnn made known that her proudest accomplishments were her three children, Jamie Babcock (Endwell, NY), Danielle Balocca (Medford, MA) and Kevin Babcock (Somerville, MA). JoAnn rested in comfort that her children were cared for and supported by their loving partners, Mike Iversen (Jamie), Brittany (Danielle) and Emily (Kevin). JoAnn loved spending time with her grandchildren, Cole (7), Fionn (6) and Jack (4), and could often be found at one of their various activities or sitting on the floor playing with them. She was looking forward to welcoming her first granddaughter in May 2024, Bailey Jo (Kevin & Emily). She also leaves behind her sister, Linda MacDougall (Yarmouth, ME); her brother, Glen MacDougall (Portland, ME); her brother-in-law, Vinny Thompson (Saugus); and her sister-in-law, Mary Thompson (Saugus); a niece, Holly Ricker (Salt Lake City, UT); a nephew, Colby Ricker; and family (Missoula, MT); and her loving Reibling cousins. What does one say to the family that has just lost such an important person in their life? That she was loved. That she was my college roommate and a huge part of the best times of my life. That she meant so much to so many people. That she cared more about you more than herself. That she was funny and always made you smile and laugh. That she loved without restriction. Honor her by living and loving life. She was a good person. I miss you Joann.
