KATHARINE GRAHAM Obituary

GRAHAM, Katharine "Kit" Age 81, of Manchester, MA, died peacefully, on July 24. Raised in Dedham, MA and Maine, Kit attended Beaver Country Day School and graduated from Boston University with a joint degree in History and Religious Studies. Later in life, she was trained in occupational therapy and lay ministry. Following her undergraduate interests, Kit was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms as well as holding a lifelong interest in history, especially as it pertained to women. For many years, she served as a librarian at Manchester Elementary School. On the recreational side, she enjoyed tennis and was an early and devoted fan of Roger Federer. An avid reader, in addition to history, she enjoyed historical romance novels with strong heroines as well as science fiction and fantasy novels, especially those that had a little magic in them. Although she grew up in a dog-oriented family, Kit loved all animals and was very much a cat person. She is survived by her cat, Chloe. She leaves two brothers, Sam Graham of Los Angeles and Gerrit Graham of Rhinebeck, NY; two nephews, Jack Graham of Portland, OR and Henry Graham of Chicago, IL, two godchildren, Margaret Crowe and Alexander Crowe; as well as numerous cousins. A Memorial Service will be held in September. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, BEVERLY. Information, directions and condolences, at www.campbellfuneral.com
