GOLDBERG, Michael P. Designer, artist, professor Of Reading, formerly of Peabody, passed away on July 12, 2022, at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Jody Landfield Goldberg, with whom he shared 37 loving years of marriage. Devoted father of Robin Goldberg. Cherished son-in-law of the late Robert & Ruth Landfield. Dear brother-in-law of Rona Landfield and Phil Scarborough. Adored cousin of Joan Tieman. Michael is survived by a host of friends, colleagues, students, and cousins. Michael attended the Peabody public schools and received a BA in Psychology and MEd in Educational Technology from Boston University. Michael was a wonderfully talented designer, art director, and long-time college professor. His educational design work has been displayed across the country in museums, hospitals, wildlife parks, and universities. Michael's creative work spanned mediums from iconic video games to educational television programming to close work with nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives of communities around the country, the latter of which he was especially proud. Michael won countless awards throughout his 27 years teaching at the college level, including the 2015 Bentley University Distinguished Faculty Award, awarded for his dedicated work with the Bentley Service-Learning Center, and the 2018 Innovation in Teaching Award. He was overjoyed to be part of the Bentley University family, where he spent the past decade sharing his love of graphic, web, and environmental design with the artists of tomorrow. He will be truly missed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 11AM at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA 02446. Luncheon to follow. I met Professor Goldberg at Bentley while taking his course Visual Communications. He brought creativity and color to a curriculum of business textbooks and balance sheets. It was a weekly double block with 3 hour classes and I still looked forward to it the most. Not only was he an incredible designer, he was passionate about his craft and cared about his students. I remember he once returned my project and explained that I did not follow the prompt accurately so he would not grade it. He was actually concerned I may not be on the right career path. I told him I really wanted to do better and he let me redo the project. I got an A the second time around and the design is still on my portfolio to this day. I found an escape in digital design and often would completely lose track of time or stay late. I never truly felt passionate about my studies until I started digital design and I owe a lot of that to him. The Bentley Community will forever miss his presence. Rest in the sweetest peace Professor Goldberg, you will be so missed.

Professor Goldberg was a fantastic professor and made a true impact on his students. He possessed an innovative teaching style that allowed for his students to learn by working on projects that mimicked real world experience. I will always remember how kind he was and I learned so much in his class. My deepest condolences to the Goldberg family. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincere condolences to the Goldberg family. I always looked forward to Professor Goldberg's web design courses at Bentley; he always doled out encouragement and support, even when we were in despair that Adobe Illustrator would ever do the thing we wanted. He was always kind, and a cheerleader for his students. Keeping his loved ones in my thoughts and prayers.

Mike was an incredible colleague and true friend. His laughter was so infectious and would put anyone at ease. He devotion to his students was beyond compare. I will miss chatting about TV shows and movies with him in our classroom labs at Bentley. I will miss the many instances of wonder during our creative collaborations together. I will greatly miss my kind and compassionate friend. He was such a blessing and a gentle, loving soul. To Robin and Jody, my thoughts are with you. Thank you for sharing him with us.
