My memories of Claflin Street, include Paul. He was a friend and a neighbor that always welcomed my greeting, where he'd respond with the catching up on the local town and neighborhood news.
He had a brilliant mind, and could recall the details of local information, from days gone by.
Paul especially enjoyed the greetings from his neighbor's children. He seemed to look forward
to Halloween, when he'd distribute candy to the huge number of children who'd climb the steps to his front door.
He was especially kind to my elderly, widowed father, Tony Citro. Paul would stroll across the street to mow his lawn, shovel snow, or rake the leaves. Paul seems to enjoy this, and took care of my father's property, as much as he did, his own.
In appreciation, my sister and I would make purchases of Wilson Farm roast chicken, bakery treats and anything else that was Paul's favorite. He always seemed delighted, with these meals.
We all enjoyed the flowers that bloomed in his front yard, and the tomatoes, in his back yard gardens, where Paul would encourage us to take some, to enjoy. We did, indeed!
Paul and his kindness, will be missed, but not forgotten.
