PAUL O'REILLY Obituary

O'REILLY, Paul Thomas Of Belmont, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family, on November 22, 2022, at the age of 86. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years Ann M. Neufell who was the love of his life; and their children, Paul D. O'Reilly and his wife, Betsey of Belmont and Beth Junkin and her husband Rob of Wayland. He was incredibly proud of his five grandchildren whom he saw frequently, Paul Brendan, Justin, Lee, Reed and Callie. Paul grew up in Watertown in a tight knit family of seven boys and one sister born to the late John and Margaret (Collins). He is survived by his brother James of Newton and the late Jack, Bobby, Joe, Richie, David and Mary Fahey; as well as many nieces and nephews who enriched his life. He attended St. Patricks and graduated from Watertown High School. He entered the US Marine Corps and served overseas before attending Bentley University. His time in the Marine Corps formed lifelong friendships and a foundation for his work ethic, which carried him throughout his life. His biggest accomplishment after the Marines was opening his own CPA firm, over 50 years ago, which was extremely successful and had many loyal clients from the surrounding communities. Paul was actively involved in the Charles J. Shutt detachment of Marine Corps League, where he was past Commandant and recently received a lifetime achievement award. He was also the Vice President and Director of the Marine Corps League Foundation as well as a member of the National Marine Corps League Budget Committee. He was actively involved in many organizations including The Hibernians, the Fraternal Order of Elks and the Fraternal Order of Eagles among others. Paul was an avid golfer and active member and past president of Oakley Country Club, as well as Foxfire Country Club in Naples, FL and Cummaquid Golf Club in Yarmouth Port, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf and many nightly card games with lifelong friends and was affectionately known as "Buddy Boy". Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt.
