He was my coach in Little League and Pony League. He was a tough guy who really had a heart of gold and was a great father to Pete(Butch) and Jackie who were my teammates right through Stoneham HighSchool. The WW2 generation really was The Greatest Generation and he was a heck of a guy.

Mr. Savelo was my Little League and Pony League coach. His sons "Butch"(Peter) and Jackie were my teammates through high school. Mr. Savelo was a sometimes stern and gruff but very likeable coach. He had a WW2 veterans sense of values that he imparted to me and all my teammates. In Stoneham,Mass. his memory and legacy will always be remembered with affection and respect. I feel honored to have been coached by him.
