ROBERT DONNELLAN Obituary

DONNELLAN, Robert P. It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" Donnellan, 59, of Weymouth, who passed away on July 6th. The eldest of five, Robert was raised in a close-knit and lively family in Dorchester. After attending St. Mark's grammar school and Don Bosco High School, Robert majored in engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. An integral part of the company, he worked for many years at Accutemp Engineering as VP of construction, developing bonds that would last a lifetime. Robert's sense of humor was unmatched, lighting up every room he entered. Never without words, his outrageous, yet true stories entertained all who listened. His love of storytelling near equaled his love of boating, friends at Wessagussett Yacht Club and deep attachment to his family in Ireland. Above all, his true commitment and devotion was to his wife, Cindy; and his precious daughters, Katie and Molly. In having known and loved him, he has forever left an imprint on our hearts. Beloved husband of Cynthia M. Donnellan of Weymouth; father of Molly Donnellan of Arlington,VA and Katherine (Katie) Donnellan of Weymouth. Devoted son of Thomas Donnellan and the late Nuala Donnellan; brother to Karen Donnellan and her husband, Carl Potts of Quincy, Maureen Donnellan of Quincy, Brian Donnellan and his wife, Catherine Booras of Middleton and Kathleen Wright and husband, Matthew of Littleton. He is also survived by his many adoring nieces and nephews, who are going to miss his stories. Relatives and friends are invited to remember Robert during Visiting Hours on Friday, 4 to 8pm, in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 40 Sea St., NORTH WEYMOUTH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:15am, Saturday, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 12pm. I was so sorry to learn about Bob´s passing. We weee early friends from St Peter´s and then reconnected a few years ago through all things Dorchester. He would stop by the store and order so many items as he was so generous to his friends. I cannot attend services as I am in Ireland visiting a country he also loved so well. My condolences to his wife and daughters, his dad and his sisters and brother and his many friends. Gone too soon!

I knew and worked with Bob for many years after he got out of Wentworth Institute. He was a great story teller and would get all excited and crack you up with his infectious laugh. I am so sorry for Cindy, Molly and Katie as well as the Donnellan Family. He was a bright light extinguished way too soon.
