Howard McKinney Obituary

Howard W. McKinney, 52, of Winter Park, Fla., died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Florida Hospital in Winter Park. Howard was born August 10, 1957, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, to the late Berroline D. McKinney and Clarence Payton of Palmetto. He was the youngest of six siblings. Howard attended the public schools of Manatee County, graduating from Palmetto High School in 1975. He continued his education at Florida A&M University (FAMU), Tallahassee, FL and graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. While at FAMU, Howard pledged and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Beta Nu Chapter. His postgraduate affiliation was with Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Winter Park, Fla. Howard was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of Captain. After his dis-charge, he was employed by Citi Bank Mortgage Company in Orlando, Fla. He is survived by his former wife, Lora and three children: daughters Crystal and Kyra and son, Kerry, all of Winter Park, FL, and one grandson, Kaneco, also of Winter Park, Fla.; one sister, Patricia of Palmetto, and four brothers: George (Zelma) of Anaheim, Calif., Mack (Roslyn) of Titusville, Fla., H. Q. of Orlando, Fla., and Rodney (Gail) of Kennesaw, Ga. Services for Howard W. McKinney are as follows: Wake, Friday, June 4, 2010, 6-8p.m., at Golden's Funeral Home, 210 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Winter Park, FL and Funeral Services 11a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Grace For Living Ministries, 585 Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Longwood, FL.
