Barbara, My heart goes out to you and your family on the passing of Jamie. I was not close to Jamie, but I was one of her many admirers. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems as though she pulled every lever she could to attend Manatee High. And she succeeded like she succeeded so well in so many things. It seems also like she set a precedent by becoming the band's drum major. No question Jamie was a very special lady, someone who was so good and so hard working and so dedicated that she drew tears of pride and admiration from all who saw her . . . and now tears from all who feel and realize we have all lost someone who is very special. The example of her life, however, should never be forgotten and should always remain an inspriation to anyone who seeks to make this a better world for all. Dave Miner

To Jamie's family and closest friends,
Please accept my deepest sympathies in this time of sorrow. It has been more than 25 years since I last saw Jamie. We twirled together with the Suncoast Twirlers. I remember looking forward to baton lessons because I knew Jamie and her winning smile would be there. She always brought joy and laughter to the times we shared. Some people are part of your life for just a short while yet leave an impression upon your heart for a lifetime....Jamie did on mine. I have thought of her and the happiness she brought to my life often over the past 25 years and I cherish those childhood memories. My heart goes out to all who knew Jamie, especially her husband and precious little girl, Mercedes. She is a beautiful woman who will be greatly missed.

Jamie is truly someone worth remembering...She was alot of fun to be around and a very positive person even as a young lady...I always knew success would follow her...I remember spending many days at Ms Barbara's home...As young girls we were all either in Ballet together or Twirling Batons which Jamie loved....Meathor Kaye Tina and Ms.Barbara God will not put any more on you than you can bear...Know she is in a better place..I know the family will truly miss her...
