Joseph Nauman Obituary

Joseph Nauman, On May 17, 2014 Joe Nauman, 51, passed away leaving three loving children and a large group of family and friends. Joseph Patrick Nauman was born in Peoria, IL on October 25, 1962. He was the sixth child of Donna Isabel and Clifford Herman Nauman. Joe was considered by his family to be the life of any party and was seldom seen without a great smile. He attempted to make people happy and fully enjoyed his short life. His love for his children and the Nauman family was unparalleled.
Joe grew up on Lake Santa Fe in Germantown Hills, IL and graduated from Metamora High School. In 1983 he obtained an Associate's Degree from the John Woods Community College in Quincy IL, specializing in heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). He is survived by his son Joshua (Brooke) Nauman, USAF, currently stationed at Andrews AFB; twins Zachary and Megan Nauman of Bradenton, FL; companion, Lynnette Madden of Sarasota FL; mother, Donna Nauman of Washington, IL; sister Linda Irwin (Roger) Seefeldt; brothers Mike (Carol) of San Jose, CA; Tim (Teresa) of Washington, IL; Tom (Sue) of Duxbury, MA; Bob of Peoria, IL; Jeff of Sycamore, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His father, Clifford Nauman, preceded him in death. Joe started his 30-year career as a field technician and continuously advanced to the roles of a General Manager of Op-erations and a member of the Board of Directors for a southwest Florida HVAC company. He was a key member of the team that he helped grow the company from a small service firm, to a highly successful industry leading company. Joe served consecutively as the Vice President and then the President of the SW Florida Gulf Coast Air Conditioning Contractors Association (GCACCA) and was recognized for his leadership. Joe understood all the aspects of running a large business, however he never lost sight of his roots. His greatest career legacy was the way he appreciated fellow workers. They in turn, respected and loved working with Joe. Following cremation, a Memorial Celebration of Joe's life will be held at a private residence in Fort Myers from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Friday, May 23. For information and directions please email [email protected]. A Memorial Celebration will also be held in Washington, IL but no day and time have been set at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests paying Joe's generous spirit forward by contributing to an educational fund for Joe's children at http://www.gofundme.com/9dpchg. My heart aches for everyone concerned. I lost my sister 3 years ago at 51 and my wife lost her brother suddenly 6 months later also 51. We are all praying for the family and wish we could take away the hurt and loss. Very sorry.

To all of the Nauman Family,
I remember that great smile well! I was introduced to it through my parents, Dick and Ann Schierer. Both Joe and I had to move to Sarasota to have that meeting! Even though we drifted apart with our everyday life activities, the family was ever in my heart.

May His love and light surround you all and give you strength to accept and cope with Joe's untimely passing.
