Raymond BRZEZNIAK Obituary

BRZEZNIAK - Raymond G. December 30, 2012, known affectionately as "Yankee Ray" and "Raya." A lifelong resident of Western New York, Ray ran the family business, "Comet TV", located on Genesee St. on Buffalo's East Side. Ray was a great baseball player and lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. Ray proudly served in the Korean War. While serving in Korea, he had the opportunity to play baseball with Major League Stars such as Yogi Berra, Billy Martin, Enos Slaughter and Robin Roberts. He worked for and retired from the Erie County Board of Elections. During his retirement, he enjoyed delivering flowers for the Flower Derby, attending Bison games, rides to Reid's for a cheeseburger with a slice and a chocolate shake, Bye's for caramel corn and Olcott to sit by the lake. He also loved puttin' around on the riding lawnmower on Sundays. Survived by his six children: Endrea (Chuck), Nicholas (Annette), Cheryl (Mike), Tammy, Michelle, Kim (Orlando) and five grandchildren: Kristen, Brigette, Joshua, Brittany and Casey. He will be sadly missed. Arrangements by BUFFALO NIAGARA CREMATION SERVICE, 855-1411.

Uncle Ray...you were the best!
You are a part of so many happy childhood memories.
I remember you helping Grandpa Brzezniak
with all of those TV repairs down in his store.
You always had a smile and a joke for everyone...
I am so happy I got to see you and spend time with you at Nicky & Annette's on the 4th. It was a wonderful time.
Thanks for the memories dear Uncle...
and give Duke a pat for me.
(how he loved those animal cookies..lol)
Light, Love, & Peace
be yours...

Dad also enjoyed hockey games at the old Memorial Aud where he held season tickets for many years. I got to see many games over those years! He had many new friends near the end of his life and was loved and respected by the people who cared for him. He certainly will be especially missed by my sister Cheryl who often had him at her house over many years where he watched Brittany and Josh grow up. He also enjoyed impromptu visits by my sister Michelle from Florida as well. His suffering is over and he now plays baseball with all the greats who went before him. Have fun Dad and say hi to Gram and Gramps as well as Nana and Papa. See you again one day!
