FERGUSON - Sally A.
age 83, of Amherst, after a lengthy illness, on November 24, 2022. Sally was born to the late Arnold and Margaret Proefrock and is predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy (Paul) Chapman, and Robert (Betty) Proefrock. She will be greatly missed by her husband John and her children, Gary Geartz and Sherry (Daniel) Harlach. Sally leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Katie, Sara, Scott (Amanda), and Kristen; as well as her great grandchildren Leo and Dalton. She leaves behind the Okun family, whom she loved dearly. She will also be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews, and her loving friends and neighbors. Sally had a servant's heart and spent much of her time volunteering at Journey's End, Saint Christopher Outreach, and The Newman Center. Sally and John played an integral part in serving refugees at Journey's End by providing them with clothing and hygiene products. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling with John to the Caribbean, and spending time at the family cottage in Canada. Sally loved to cook for her family and cherished them above all else. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Newman Center, 495 Skinnersville Road, on Tuesday, December 6th, at 5:00pm.
