Peter MacLean Obituary
SEPTEMBER 6, 1930 - JUNE 14, 2021
A graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, class of 1952, and General Theological Seminary, New York City.
He served churches in Brooklyn, Sayville, St. James and Shelter Island in New York, as well as in Maine, Virginia, North Carolina, and Vermont.
He was commissioned as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy where he served as a chaplain assigned to the US Marines with a tour in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years Margaret, their son Matthew, and children from his first marriage, Elizabeth, Max, and Margaret; grandchildren, Sam, Erin, Sarah, Calvin and Ethan; great grandchild Nolan, and a sister Judith Webber. he was predeceased by daughter Andria, and great grandchild Miles.
A service of Christian burial will be held at All Saints Church, South Burlington, Vermont, at a later time.
Burial of cremains will be at St. Mary's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Shelter Island, New York, where he served that congregation for 17 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary's church, Shelter Island, NY, or to All Saints Church, South Burlington, Vermont, where he and his wife Margaret attended for 24 years following retirement.

My mother, Jessie Moore and I knew Rev. MacLean through St. David´s School and First Parish Church of Jamesport, NY where he was interim Minister. His daughter Libby was active in her father´s services, sharing her musical talent.
My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family. He was a wonderful pastor and will be missed by all that knew him.
