Georgia Trostle Obituary

Georgia Bauman Ford Trostle, who resided at Sherwood Oaks of Cranberry Township, and was formerly of Butler, passed away on Nov. 29, 2022.
Born Aug. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Martha (Heck) Bauman.
Georgia graduated from Butler High School in 1943, where she served as the lead drum majorette for Butler High School and volunteered for the Saxonburg Fire Department.
Georgia was a parish member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and served as a greeter.
Georgia was a volunteer for the Heart Fund, American Cancer Fund, the March of Dimes, United Way, and hospital drives through Butler Memorial Hospital. She helped with fundraising and year-round celebrations for handicapped children, served on the board of the YWCA, and was a past president of the Butler Junior Woman's Club. While serving, she headed the steering committee for the creation of the first public Community Kindergarten YMCA in Butler.

She served on the Butler County Board of Realtors in several capacities throughout her tenure. Georgia was a member of the Butler Country Club for many years.
A fiercely dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Georgia was the true matriarch of her family. She enjoyed traveling, parties, dancing, playing bridge and reading, but most of all, she loved time with her family.
Georgia is survived by her son, Timothy C. Ford of Denver, Colo.; one granddaughter, Dr. Tracy Vargas (Mario) of Steamboat, Colo.; two grandsons, Timothy C. Ford Jr. of Denver, Colo., and William R. Ford (Anna) of Tuscon, Ariz.; her great-grandsons, Rafael and Elio Vargas, and Rocky Ford and Silas Ford; her great-granddaughter and namesake, Isla Georgia Ford, and Zoë Ford and Arielle Vargas; a sister and best friend, June E. Warnick of Butler; three stepchildren, Robert Trostle (Darlene), David Trostle (Linda) of Cranberry Township, and Lynn Sekel (Larry) of Bradenton, Fla.; eight stepgrandchildren, Sarah Trostle, Katy Roscov (Jon), Robert Trostle (Chrystina), Taylor Span, Madison Span, Jay Sekel (Wendy), Brian (Jen) Sekel and Alexa Diaz (Josh); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Donald O. Ford, who died on July 6, 1994; her second husband, Ward W. Trostle, whom she married on Nov. 29, 2002, and who passed away on Sept. 22, 2017; her stepson, Robert Trostle; two sisters, Sue Pranulis and Carol Bulger; and a beloved infant brother.

Georgia sold me my first house, on Bredin Avenue in Butler. I loved that house. She was a professional, elegant, honest, pleasant and a true friend to our family for many, many years. Rest easy and thank you, Georgia!
