Edgar Kelley Obituary

Edgar C. Kelley, 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 29 2004. He was born on February 8, 1915 in Lockhart, Texas to Ed and Ida Kelley. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Robstown, Texas. He was a farmer and retired after 24 dedicated years working for the City of Corpus Christi. He was an avid fisherman and loved to work at his repair shop in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Sue Kelley; his first wife, Elvira; three sisters, Lorena Smith, Dorothy Hafner, and Lillie Mae Cowan; two brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Kelley. He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Paul) Turpin of Corpus Christi, Janet (Jim) Harrison of La Vernia, Texas; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four brothers Felton "Jack" Kelley of Austin, Texas, Tommy (Dorothy) Kelley of Robstown, Edward (Georgie) Kelley of Robstown, Nolan Kelley of Orange Grove, Texas; one sister Evelyn Crow of Bay City, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones including Shirley Brown and family. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Robstown Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 3316 County Road 48, Robstown, Texas 78380.
