Eugenia Garza Obituary

GARZA Eugenia M. Garza, 81, was called to Heaven on June 27, 2009. She was a woman of God and brought many people to the Lord. She taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. She was also active in the jail ministry for 28 years. Ms. Garza was the recipient of the Jefferson Service Award and was nominated for the Jacqueline Kennedy Community Service Award. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gilbert S. Garza; son, David Garza; daughter, Ester Garza; both parents; and brother, Antonio Rodriguez. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Daniel Garza (Erica), Elizabeth G. Gonzales (Ruben); brothers, Juan Salazar, Macedonio Galvan; sisters: Ruth Moncayo and Maria Diaz. Also surviving her are five grandchildren: Carmen, Danny, Erik, Dinora, Esther; five great-grandchildren: Erik, Troy, Sean, Julia, Gabriel-Heidi; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Christian Outreach Ministry with a service to be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Christian Outreach Ministry. Officiating will be Pastor Ed and Olga Davila; Pastor David Canales and wife Diana; and Gilbert Davila. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
