Jason Moody Obituary

Jason Phillip Moody "J.P." died of accidental causes on Friday, December 29, 2006, at his home in San Antonio. He was born September 25, 1975, in Palestine. His parents are Sherry Smith Long and David Long of Emerald Bay and Mike and Cathy Moody of Corpus Christi. He graduated high school in Bay City and later graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco. He was employed at Texas Concrete Construction in San Antonio. J.P. was best known for his love of hunting and fishing, entertaining his many friends with his grand sense of humor, and his deep affection for his family.Grandparents are Celia Smith and the late Dale H. Smith of Palestine and Kenneth and Joan Moody of Killeen. He is survived by brother, Chad Moody, sister-in-law, Summer Moody, and niece, Elliot. Aunts and uncles are Linda and Charlie Allison of Bay City, Danny and Dorenda Smith, Dale Wayne and Brenda Smith all of Palestine and Richard and LaGail Moody of Tennessee. Cousins include Joe Allison of Austin, Stacy Neal of Long Beach, CA, Camille Smith Kruse and husband, Trent Kruse of Plano, Braden Linder of San Antonio, and Owen, Evan, and Aaron Smith of Palestine.Condolences will be received from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 1, 2007, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.Services for Jason Phillip (J.P.) Moody will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the First Christian Church, Palestine with the Rev. Scott Dornbush and Rev. Dan Bubach officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home, Palestine.Pallbearers are Ryan Niles, Paul Grover, Bob Templeton, Danny Rieger, Matt Wood, and Tim McCurty.Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 422 S. Magnolia, Palestine, Texas 75801.
