Joseph Kirchmeyer Obituary

Joseph D. (J.D.) Kirchmeyer, beloved husband and father, age 73, passed away April 19, 2005. He was born August 8, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Andrew and Minnie Kirchmeyer.He served the armed forces during the Korean War. J.D. was a longtime farmer/rancher until his retirement in 1990.He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness, and generosity to others.He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Leona Avant and Lucille Connally.He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carole and five children: Donald (Laura) Kirchmeyer, Patty Kirchmeyer, Richard (Kim) Kirchmeyer, Dottie (James) Fortner, and Jennifer (Allen) Hornung; one step-daughter, Maureen Crawley; eleven grandchildren: Lene, Krystle, J.D. III, Ryan, Brandon, Tyler, Gary, Dion, Kameron, Austen, and Kaylee and two great grandchildren, Nasser and Mackie.Pallbearers will be his grandsons, J.D., Ryan, Gary, Brandon, his son-in-law, James and nephew, Jibber Connally.Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Tyler, Kameron and Austen.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
