Florance Rausch Obituary

Florance Gwen Rausch, 80, of Cañon City passed away on December 15, 2023. She was born June 21, 1943, to Arlow J. and Ruby F. Thalmann in American Fork, Utah. She married Joseph A. Rausch on November 30, 1968, in Boulder City, Nevada. She was an Elementary School teacher, loving wife, and devoted mother of five who loved her children and 11 grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends, spending time outdoors, crafting, and collecting chickens. Florance was a faithful Latter-Day Saint and she enjoyed helping others. She also was a member of the Cañonland Walkers & Hikers Club. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Darlene & LaNae; and brothers: Kerry & Brent. She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Joe Rausch; sister Arlone; brother Dennis; daughters Shauna Branch (John) & Denise King (Richard); sons Ernie, Kyle (Jenny) & Nick (Natasha) Rausch; and eleven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1435 Elm Avenue in Cañon City, Colorado. At the request of the deceased, in lieu of flowers donations be made to Brigham Young University or the worldwide missionary fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
