Velma Ward Obituary
Age 85, of Canton
went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, March 1, 2009, at Aultman Hospital. She was born on Jan. 30, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the late Hayward and Nina Mayle and lived in the Canton area most of her life. She attended the Crystal Park Wesleyan Church. She sadly leaves her husband of 61 years, Cart T. Ward and her sons, Carl Leon Ward of Dellroy, OH, Robert (Debbie) Ward of Carrollton, OH, Donald (Laurie) Ward of Zoar, OH; daughters, Diana (Edwin) Manners of Salem, OH, Sandra Young of Bolivar, OH, Carol Mayle of Grafton, WV, Jo Ellen Ward of Canton, Marlene (Jerry) Mayle of Grafton, Phyllis (Tom) Brown of Cambridge, OH, and Lynette (Daniel) Gilliam of Stuart, FL; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her brother, Kelley Mayle of Canton. Velma was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert, Orville, Darrell, Theodore, and Hershel and her sister, Louise Croston. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel (801 Pittsburg Rd. NW) with Rev.Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
