Dorothy V. Chambers, 88, of Annapolis, died Jan. 18 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Dorothy was born July 1, 1921, in Annapolis, to the late James H. (Sr.) and Blanche E. Cham bers. She was educated in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and graduated from Wiley H. Bates High School in 1938. She worked and retired from Crownsville State Hospital after 35 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence E. Hawkins III; and brother, James H. Chambers Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret E. Nick, sister, Christine E. Cully and brother, Frank B. Chambers Sr., all of Annapolis; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 at Reese & Sons Mortuary, 821 West St., Annapolis. Wake will be held at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 87 West Street, Annapolis.
