George Worrell

George Franklin Worrell, a resident of Anne Arundel County, MD, and previously of Wilson, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Known to family and friends as Frank, he was born on July 25, 1939, in Wilson County, NC to the late James Franklin and Bertha Bass Worrell. He graduated from Wilson County High School and attended college at Wilson Tech. Frank served in the U.S. Army from 1963-67 and worked as a used car dealer. He enjoyed restoring and building antique cars. Frank is survived by his wife, Carolyn Worrell; two children, Frank Worrell, II of Tracys Landing, MD, and Georgia Nagail Brinkley of Dunkirk, MD; three grandchildren, James Worrell of Tracys Landing, MD, Ashley Katski of Harwood, MD, and Alicia Worrell of England; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Thompson, Avery Jo Katski, Beau Katski, and Colorado Katski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert, Harvey, and Jim Worrell. Friends are invited to celebrate Frank's life on Wednesday, August 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3 at 10 am.
