Robert MacLennan Obituary

Robert J. MacLennan, age 92, passed away in his home in Annapolis, MD on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018. He was born on January 21st, 1926 in Boston, MA to Archibald MacLennan and Mildred Barretta MacLennan and was the 1st of 3 children. Bob graduated Springfield College, Springfield, MA in where he met the love of his life Lorraine Laliberte and were married in 1951. Bob briefly served in the Navy during the last year of WWII and joined the Army as a helicopter pilot for medical evacuations in 1950. He achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel and retired from the Army in 1974. After seeing the world, Lorraine and Bob retired in Annapolis, MD where Bob served as Annapolis Harbor Master from 1975-1990. Bob enjoyed playing the organ and was always quick with a joke or a story of his time flying helicopters while in the service. He will be remembered as a loving spouse, father and grandfather and a generous soul to both humans and animals alike. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lorraine; daughters Maureen and Leslie; 8 grandchildren; his sisters Marjorie and Betty, and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Mission Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd, Annapolis. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Friday, December 7th at 917 Barnegat Ln, Annapolis.
