Perry Moore Obituary

Perry O'Neil Moore Jr., 57, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1960, in Charlotte, N.C., to Vivian Vick Moore and the late Perry O'Neil Moore Sr.
Neil graduated from Gardner-Webb University on a baseball scholarship and his love for sports continued, coaching Little League baseball and football for many years.
He was currently employed with the Keith Corp., covering operations and maintenance for several of BB&T's corporate facilities in Charlotte. Neil also worked at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for many years. Neil was loyal, hardworking and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand; he was the ultimate handyman. He took his job seriously, responding to situations any time of day, even nights and weekends.
Neil was a generous man; he enjoyed giving more than receiving, and he had a talent for picking out special and unique gifts. He especially loved the holidays and always thought of fun and meaningful ways to celebrate.
Neil had a joy for cooking, especially for events he planned, always attempting new recipes. He loved sharing his enthusiasm about every aspect of the beach with his family. He and B.J. loved spending time at the lake, and Neil especially enjoyed taking out guests on his boat.
Neil enjoyed music; he was a semi-professional DJ and always created sound-tracks for every event. He was patriotic and always displayed his flag at the lake; he also loved to fish, be outdoors, go camping and watch the Carolina Panthers.
Neil was passionate about his family and loved them unconditionally.
He is survived by his son, Nick Moore and his fiancée, Ashley Horton, of Clayton, N.C.; son, Cody Moore of Boone, N.C.; mother, Vivian Moore of Indian Land; long-time companion, B.J. Denny of Greensboro, N.C., and his stepson, Daniel Gore of Hong Kong.
Neil was preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Moore; and father, Perry Moore.
Funeral services were held at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, with burial at Flint Hill Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Neil's favorite charity, Charlotte Rescue Mission.

My heartfelt condolences to Neil's family. Although I haven't spoken with Neil for many years, I considered him a good friend and thoroughly enjoyed playing softball with him and going to Sunset beach with him. I am saddened to hear of his passing.

You were one of my closest cousins. I remember your dreams of playing pro ball, and wanting to be a Radio DJ. I remember the days we spent playing in Indian Land and you would open the windows in your room and put the stereo speakers in them and play records, you were our very own DJ. I will never be able to hear 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Don't let the sun go down on me" without thinking of you. You are gonna be sooo missed !Tell everybody in Heaven hello, and I love them. Til we meet again.......

Aunt Vivian, Nick, Cody, and B.J.,

My heart aches for each of you as you try to make it through another day without Neil. While we had all drifted in our own directions, the many memories of our childhood antics, the families ties that held us together were still binding.

Please know that Neil is missed, but for every memory you have, he continues to live in you, in me, and all of those who knew and loved him.

We send our love and prayers to each and every one of you and ask that God comfort and hold you close in the days ahead.

With love,

Cathy and Frank

I agree with Derrick and Kelly. Your on so many people's mind. Its like people can't stop talking about you, how shocked they are and how much you will be missed. Who are we going to call for help? You definitely had an impact on the employees of BB&T on Parkway Plaza Blvd. My prayers are for your family and close friends. Pamela Groves, Gastonia, NC.

Neil,
This is such a shock to me...I just spoke to you. Its more than hard being here at work without you. The stories we shared with each other and the many conversations filled with lots of laughs for 13 years will never be forgotten and will be held very dear to me always. Although I could go on and on, I wont...I'll just end this by saying, "See ya later, my friend". The next fish I catch is for you and I'll be having Arby's this weekend *wink*

Love,
Kelly
