Brenda J. Eaton

1940 - 2021

Brenda Johnson Eaton, age 81, of Taneytown, MD entered into God's eternal care on September 10, 2021. Born in Salisbury, MD on July 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Thelma B. Johnson (nee Bradley). She was the wife of John Eaton, her husband of 62 years. Prior to moving to Taneytown in 2017 she and her husband lived in Rehoboth Beach, DE for 18 years. She was a member of Conley's United Methodist Church of Lewes, DE and prior to that Taylorsville United Methodist Church of Mt. Airy, MD. She loved having the family come to the beach for weekly visits during the summer and family get-togethers throughout the year and will always be remembered for her extra sharp Macaroni and Cheese dinners, Broccoli Salad and Grammy Pancakes. She bowled on several leagues and enjoyed playing golf and playing pinochle. Her kindness, caring and generosity towards others was endless. She had a compassion for kids and worked in many jobs. She enjoyed working at South Carroll High School in Winfield, MD where she could intermingle with kids on a daily basis. She also did secretarial and accounting work in Baltimore and co-managed a printing company in Union Bridge, MD along with her husband. She Volunteered with the Midway Lions Club in Rehoboth Beach, DE and enjoyed testing preschoolers for early eye problems. Later she sat and read to small children for Read-A-Loud Delaware. She also volunteered rocking small babies at several local day care centers. Surviving in addition to her husband are sons John and his wife Debbie of Marriottsville, MD, Charles (Chuck) and his wife Patti of Shrewsbury, PA and Barry and his wife Christina of Mechanicsburg, PA and sister, Sarah and husband Charles Bauman of East New Market, MD. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Allison, Alex, Joshua, Ryan, and Kyle: and two great-grandsons Ralph and Carter. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon at which time the funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Winfield, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Interment at Taylorsville Church Cemetery.
